This is the transcript from ScriptureLinks Daily Dose of Inspiration
Good Morning and welcome to this brand new day. This is ScriptureLinks Daily Dose of Inspiration for Monday, November 19 2018. As you wake up to start this brand new day thank God for this day and praise Him for this day and thank him for what He has done in your life and what He is gonna do today. That is the topic for this week’s broadcasts: Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is just a couple of days away most of you probably have your turkey sitting out right now and are planning out your big holiday feast.
We are going to take a few minutes each morning and we’re going to talk about Thanksgiving and some verses of Scripture that talk about Thanksgiving, and what those verses teach us about what we need to be thankful for. The first one we’re going to look at today is in the book of Second Corinthians chapter number 4, and verse numbers 13 to16,
“We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak; Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you. For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God. For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.”
2 Corinthians 4:13-16 – https://www.biblegateway.com/passage?search=2%20Corinthians%204:13-16&version=KJV
There are three things in these verses that that we need to be thankful for. The first one we see here is found in verse number 15 when he says “for all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace;.” We need to be thankful for the abundant grace of God. If it wasn’t for the grace of God, we couldn’t be saved today. If it wasn’t for the grace of God, many of us would not be living for him today or would not be proclaiming Jesus as our Lord and Savior. It was that abundant grace of God that gave Jesus to pay the penalty for your sins of mine, that we could in turn spend eternity in Heaven with Him. You need to be thankful for that abundant grace.
The second thing I saw here is in verse 14, “knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.” You need to be thankful for raising of Jesus because If Jesus died on the cross and is still in the grave today, then we couldn’t be saved. His death would have meant nothing. But, it was raising from the dead and going back to the Father is what proved or what sealed the love God has for us what completed that work. And we know Jesus was raised up because he was seen by many witnesses, many of which is recorded here scriptures.
So we need to be thankful for the abundant grace of God. We need to be thankful for the raising of Jesus. The last thing I see here, we need to be thankful for our renewing. Verse 16, “for which cause we faint not, but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.” We need to be thankful for the renewal of God, that we could be renewed each and every day to live for Him.We need to be renewed in His love and His grace and His righteousness each and every day. We should be renewed to live for Him, are you doing that today? Are you thankful for that abundant grace? Are you thankful that you have been renewed? Are you thankful that Jesus was raised from the dead? Give Him praise and give Him Worship. Thank Him for those things today that you will go through. Remember, get into God’s word and allow God’s Word to get into you and share that with someone today. Have a blessed day.
